# Reference URLs & temporary inputs

When model metadata supports `image`, supply one top-level HTTPS reference image URL in an image or video request. Browser `blob:` URLs cannot be accessed by the service. Multiple reference images are not part of the current normalized request.

For image-to-image or image-to-video, pass a public HTTPS URL in `image` when the model supports reference images. The public inference API takes URLs, not file bytes. Playground can upload temporary input images or videos to private R2 storage; only signed-in, verified users can use it. Generated results are never downloaded, stored or rehosted by XXXRouter.

Temporary Playground inputs support PNG/JPEG/WebP up to 10 MiB and MP4/WebM up to 50 MiB, with 20 upload attempts per minute per account. Read links last at most 1 hour and are not renewed. A one-day object expiration rule cleans up files asynchronously; it is not an exact physical deletion deadline. An image URL can be filled into a supported reference field. Video URLs are usable only when the selected model declares video-input support; they cannot be passed as reference images. Keep your own externally hosted URLs accessible throughout processing.

```json
{"model":"seedream-4.5","prompt":"A small blue house","image":"https://example.com/reference.png","n":1,"size":"2048x2048"}
```

Successful responses return the original generated-media URL unchanged. The original host controls availability, expiry and browser cross-origin behavior. Save results before expiry; querying a completed task returns the saved URL and does not renew it. Request metadata and result URLs may be retained for recovery; generated-media bytes are never retained.
